Are you a shooter? Would you like to be informed of Delta Trap Club events? Send an email to telling us about your shooting interests (ATA, league, meat shoots, etc.) and we will send you periodic information about our activities.

Delta Trap Club is open to all. You do not need to be a member to participate in club events. Membership is well worth the price, but we are happy to welcome non-members to our club.

My Vision for the Club

When looking back, I have always had weapons in my life in one form or another. These ranged from the shotgun I first bought for all the bird hunting starting at age 13 (which I still own) to the side arms used in law enforcement, to the multiple weapons used in the military, to the competitive strategies employed throughout my corporate career. When I retired, or so I thought was retirement, to this wonderful area of our Great State of Colorado; I had ambitions of simply enjoying life and helping others when possible. I have always loved shooting and shooting sports. I looked forward to eventually focusing back and spending “some” of my time in “retirement” with this activity in mind. Then, after passing the Delta Trap Club so many times I thought why not see what this sport was all about. That first time my wife and I finally just stopped in, we both felt welcomed. After being personally shown what a round of Trap was and explained in detail by a past Club President, Jack Sprague, I knew I was going to be spending much of my future having fun shooting these clay birds. I understand this profile is supposed to be about me, but I have always been focused more on the club than my own shooting. My scores easily reflect that. However, I am still hooked!

Within the first month of being a club member, I was asked to join the board and become a more active member other than shooting. I learned many decades ago in the military – “Never Volunteer!” Well, that is just not the way I have rolled over the years and welcomed the opportunity to help if I could. It has been two years, and I see no chance of parole. After learning more about Trap Shooting, and I have so much more to learn, I truly saw a club that has done so very well but also recognized the potential of the Delta Trap Club becoming an even better club. I sincerely have a vision that the Delta Trap Club could become a “Destination Trap Club.” This club is located in a terrific area and there are so many various levels of activity and enjoyable destinations within a very short distance for the outdoor enthusiast. Through the past 2 years I have listened and observed from many experienced shooters. The club motto and logo still stands true today…The Home of Great Targets, Scores, and Friendly People. I am grateful and blessed to be part of this enjoyable membership. I have seen what this membership has been from the long-timers, what it is currently, and the direction it is going. And, where it is going is even better. We need to continue to help perpetuate this sport and fun activity through the recruitment and introduction to our friends, family, and youth. The efforts by the entire membership are responsible for what has been identified as one of the highest active membership levels in club history. Our membership is the key to its past and future success. Being an “all-volunteer owned and operated” organization; it is crystal clear our biggest resource is our members. There is a vast pool of resources, talent, and experience within this club. Our attitude, willingness, friendship, and passion for the sport will carry this club well into the future.
